The third game in the Total War: Warhammer series, titled Final Breath. This is planned to be a standalone game that will release on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One with no current plans for an expansion pack or other games being made by THQ Nordic. The game’s story begins after the events of Rise of Chaos which left much room for speculation as to what may have happened next.

Roadmap for Total War: Warhammer 3 - 2022 Brings Auto-Resolve Improvements, Warriors of Chaos Rework, and More

The long-awaited Roadmap for Total War: Warhammer 3 has been released, revealing the improvements and new content planned to the grand strategy throughout the year.

The plan for Total War: Warhammer 3 follows the trilogy’s final installment’s slower start in terms of additional content. Although certain features, such as the merged map of the Immortal Empires and the Blood DLC, may take longer to come, we now have a better idea of what to anticipate in the coming months.

The next milestone in Total War: Warhammer III’s road map will be the release of patch 1.2 in late May. According to current intentions, it will concentrate on a number of concerns that players have raised since the game’s introduction.

AI towers being rebuilt too rapidly, flying units being caught while trying to assault land targets, snow being excessively brilliant, and players becoming stranded in Slaanesh’s domain are just a few examples.

Auto-resolve improvements, which reduce the feature’s difficulty scaling and shift it to be determined by the chosen battle difficulty, unit reactivity improvements (which the developer describes as a “long-term project”), technology tree reworks, a leaderboard reset, and the addition of new Regiments of Renown are all planned for patch 1.2.

While DLCs will continue to be released alongside these stronger variations of existing troops, Warhammer III’s “first few upgrades” will contain free Regiment of Renown units for each of the game’s primary races.

Q3 2022

On the Total War: Warhammer III plan, Q3 2022 will be significantly busy.

Grand Cathay’s formation assault capabilities will be improved in Patch 1.3, making the faction more effective in frontal clashes.

Tzeentch and Slaanesh’s unit replenishment rates will be altered, and skill trees will be rewritten.

It also has an aim of increasing the frequency of field fights, as well as making improvements to unit reactivity and combat exchanges.

The Total War Assembly Kit will also be released in Q3, providing the community all of the tools they need to keep making fantastic modifications.

Patch 2.0, which will make the Immortal Empires combined map accessible as part of an integrated open beta available across all platforms, is perhaps the centerpiece of Total War: Warhammer III’s Q3 2022 plan.

The developer will concentrate on “balancing, map, races, and other areas where we may continue to make modifications depending on player input” during this first phase.

Along with the polarizing Blood for the Blood God DLC, Update 2.0 offers a much-needed overhaul for the Warriors of Chaos group.

Q3 will also see the release of Warhammer III’s first Lord Pack, which will add four new playable Legendary Lords to the game’s roster.

Q4 2022

Two further updates are planned for Total War: Warhammer III’s roadmap as 2022 draws to a conclusion. Patch 2.1 will build on the previous update by expanding the Immortal Empires mode and introducing the third set of Regiments of Renown.

Patch 2.2 or patch 3.0 will be the year’s last content release. They will concentrate on Immortal Empires regardless of their size or number.

After 2022,

In the future, the developer wants to enhance in-game communication, extend the new Domination mode, add land maps from the previous Warhammer games to Warhammer III, and discover a mechanism to share the matching queue and rating across the game’s Domination and Land Battle modes.

Plans may change, and certain elements may be shifted or postponed, as is typically the case. Even if Total War: Warhammer III’s timeline takes a while to settle in, 2022 seems to be a busy year, if developer Creative Assembly keeps its promises.

On PC, Total War: Warhammer III is now available. It’s available via Fanatical, as well as other major retailers and Xbox Game Pass.
