For years, the No More Heroes franchise has been a huge hit on the Nintendo Wii. The games’ main character, Travis Touchdown, was a strong and silent type who would always rescue the pretty girls that were in trouble. But the game’s popularity wasnt just limited to Wii owners. A recent PC version of the game was released, but unfortunately, some of the cut-scenes where not included. To make up for that, the developers of the game have released a new patch to bring them into the fold. The patch will be released on the 9th of June, but to get it as soon as it is available, you need to pre-order the game on Steam. The patch is free, and you don’t need to

To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I first saw the game. It was a side scrolling beat ’em up that looked pretty great, even if it was on the Wii. Then I heard about the Gamecube version, and the fact that it would be coming to the Wii U. This blew my mind! Why would you make a game for the Wii U, which was launched only a year ago? It’s not like the Wii U has much of a userbase, and it’s not like there’s a huge demand for side scrolling beat ’em ups. So, why?

As many of you know, No More Heroes is a God of War-style game for the Playstation 2 that has been out of print for years.  It’s being remade for the PC, and it looks incredible.  Here’s a look at some of the footage from E3.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is No More Heroes 1 open world?

While it’s true that No More Heroes 1 and No More Heroes 2 weren’t exactly open world games–the majority of the game’s environments were essentially a series of interconnected maps–they did feature a degree of free-roaming, albeit much smaller, than most other titles. And, presumably, the upcoming No More Heroes 1 & 2 will take advantage of the more open world nature of the PS3/PS4 platform as it relates to large-scale, seamless environments. In February, a listing appeared for a Steam version of No More Heroes 1 & 2, but now that the game is coming to PC June 9 . So I sat down with the latest build from Grasshopper Manufacture to see what I could find out.

Why is it called No More Heroes?

When I first heard of No More Heroes, it was when it was announced that it was going to be made into a film with Mark Wahlberg as the lead. My initial thoughts of course were that it is a game that no one should play, but that was before I played it. The opening level was so hard I had to take a break from the game. Yes, I am a weakling. I am going to be honest with you, I do not like the name No More Heroes. I know you are thinking it is because the game is called No More Heroes. I am very happy that the game is called No More Heroes, because it is a very good game. But “No More Heroes” just sounds like a bad movie title. I know, I know. I am sure everyone is thinking the No More Heroes game is on the Wii, but it is not. I will explain why I think this is a good game, and not a bad movie title.

What is the first No More Heroes game?

Years ago, Nintendo’s beloved Metroid series put you in the role of Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter tasked with finding the source of an energy source in a remote planet called Zebes. That series is almost 20 years old now, but many fans hope to see a remake of the original Metroid in the future. In the meantime, an indie production called No More Heroes has been doing the job. I am one of the few people lucky enough to have gotten a sneak peek at the first chapter of “No More Heroes” and believe me, it’s a game you don’t want to miss. The single player thrill ride takes players through a series of real-life scenarios that would have been impossible to put into a game at the time of the first No More Heroes game, with fully fleshed out characters and a storyline that has you questioning everything about your life.
