2016 has been a pretty good year for MMORPGs. With the release of both The Elder Scrolls Online and Star Citizen, it was revealed that 2015 had been the highest-grossing year ever for MMORPGs. But this announcement was surprising, because as far as anyone knew there was no major MMORPG in development.
In the past few months, the indie game development studio Fractured Pixel Studios has grown its team by about 20 percent thanks to what may be several hundred thousand dollars in investment. What led to this unexpected development?
While Fractured is still a young game, it’s already risen to be considered one of the most ambitious computer games ever made. In fact, its lead developer, Jeff Vogel, has stated that he wants to make the game a trilogy . And on top of this, the game is backed and funded by two large investments, the first coming from the likes of Paul Marriott , the creator of Bionic Commando and co-founder of Pogo Games .MMO sandbox crowdfunding Fractured explained this week why it’s not living up to its track record, but thankfully it’s all good news: The game’s development team is doubling its staff, thanks to what looks like at least one new investment in the game and the company.

And that’s what Make My MMO does every Saturday. Help us keep them at bay, will you?
We’re happy to announce that we’ve more than doubled our staff. We now have a total of 40. This means that more people are working on the game, helping us make it the best it can be.. Read more about ashes of creation reviews and let us know what you think.
