For the first time in 15 years, Sora will be returning to Disney’s Kingdom Hearts series. The game is also set to release on mobile platforms for the first time ever.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is the next game in the Kingdom Hearts series. The game will be released on January 29th 2019 and will feature Sora once again. It also includes a new mobile game called “Missing-Link”, which has been announced for iOS and Android.

Square Enix and Disney announced today that Kingdom Hearts IV, the newest edition in the famous RPG series, is in early production, as part of the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebrations, as well as a brand-new mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link.

Sora makes a triumphant comeback in the announcement video, with an updated look at the start of an epic new tale dubbed the “Lost Master Arc.” Players are introduced to the Quadratum, a massive, expansive metropolis set in a magnificent, realistic setting unlike anything seen previously in the KINGDOM HEARTS series, with Sora facing off against a gigantic opponent in a boss encounter. Fans may also look forward to KINGDOM HEARTS Missing-Link, an all-new iOS and Android game that enables players to go on adventures outside of the realm of Scala ad Caelum. Players will be able to fight the Heartless in thrilling combat and learn about a fresh, unique plot. A closed beta test will be place in 2022*.

The KINGDOM HEARTS team also revealed that the highly anticipated final chapter of KINGDOM HEARTS DARK ROAD would be published as a free upgrade to the KINGDOM HEARTS Union? Dark Road app in August 2022. SQUARE ENIX and Disney held a KINGDOM HEARTS 20th Anniversary event in Tokyo, Japan, where they honored the franchise’s 20th anniversary with fans and gave a sneak peek at what’s coming next. A live music performance, a display of stained-glass artworks, and on-stage appearances by Series Director Tetsuya Nomura, series composer Yoko Shimomura, and other development members rounded out the festivities. On the official social media sites, fans may see images from the event, and a recording of the event will be released at a later date. Finally, the official SQUARE ENIX Store has a range of anniversary-themed goods available for pre-order.
