The error is a result of the game being unable to connect with the servers, which has led players to be disconnected from their games.
Humankind is a 4x turn-based strategy game that was launched on PC yesterday, and it’s now the most popular 4X strategy game on Steam, despite players reporting receiving a Forcibly Disconnected Error message while playing multiplayer.
We looked at the issue message to see if we could figure out what was causing the Forcibly Disconnected Error in Humankind’s multiplayer mode and if there was any way to repair it. We’ve also contacted Amplitude Studios and Sega to see if they have anything to say.
Error of Humanity Being Forcibly Disconnected
Multiple complaints of the Forcibly Disconnected Error have surfaced on Reddit and the official Humankind forums, and it seems to be exclusive to the Xbox Game Pass version of the game; it does not affect Steam users.
Changing the firewall settings hasn’t helped, and reinstalling Humankind hasn’t worked either. Some users have reported success with account authentication, which involves creating a new Microsoft account and then waiting for the game to trigger the Xbox sign-in request.
Steps to Resolve a Forcibly Disconnected Error
- Log out of the Xbox App
- Make a new Microsoft account and sign in with it.
- Wait for the Xbox Game Pass Login Prompt after loading Humankind.
Although it seems to be an authentication problem for Xbox Game Pass members, we’ve contacted Amplitude Studios and Sega to see if we can receive a response regarding this mistake and if they can give any advise on how to solve it. This problem does not seem to be affecting Steam users, as far as we can tell.
“Although not all of its features are as fleshed out as they could be, Humankind does hit several sweet spots, both in terms of combat and management, having enough going on to push you to click that next turn button,” we wrote in our review of Humankind, which we found to be a great addition to the 4X Strategy genre.
