Humans have been killing each other since we were cavemen, but as technology and weapons have progressed, we have started to realize that the only way to dominate the battlefield is to become the ultimate weapon. With the release of Humankind Force Surrender, we introduce the first line of intelligent weapons, created by the UN to protect the world. These robots are the culmination of thousands of years of human ingenuity and the latest in machine learning.
The universe is a pretty big place. Generally we don’t spend much time dealing with the stuff that is a part of it, since it’s nice and stable. That’s not to say it’s not important, because it is. But the universe has a tendency to go on as it pleases, and it’s not really interested in human beings meddling with it. That’s why we’re not going to surrender just yet. Yes, we’re going to win this war. It’s only a matter of time.
I’ve been thinking a lot about Humankind Force Surrender lately. The game has been out for almost a year now, and the team has been adding new features and content all the time. I think it’s been interesting to follow that development, and I’m not interested in “stopping” the game at any point. But the game has been in development for over 9 years. War will inevitably occur in Humanity at some point. Armies will fight and people will die, whether it is over a valuable resource or the simple desire to paint more of the map in one’s own color. Force Surrender is one method to see a conflict through to its conclusion, and it’s likely the one you’ll employ the most. This is how it goes.
Only when a side’s war support has dropped to zero may Forced Surrender in Humankind be activated. This may happen for a number of reasons, but defeating troops and occupying cities moves things forward much more quickly.
When a participant’s war support hits 0, the winning side may use the War Resolution tab of the diplomacy menu to compel them to surrender.
The winner of Humankind’s Force Surrender option gets to pick the conditions, beginning with any demands that may have sparked the conflict in the first place.
After they’ve been chosen, the winner may choose to use their remaining war support on retaking towns they’ve already conquered, vassalize their opponent, or keep things as they are and make some money.
When both civilizations choose Force Surrender, their war support drops to 0 and they may begin restoring diplomatic relations. Check out our guide on attaching outposts to cities and the complete list of playable cultures for more information about Humankind.
