Last week, ArenaNet revealed the next mode coming to Guild Wars 2: Twisted Marionette. After a month of speculation, ArenaNet has finally revealed the content that’s coming next week in the game, and it’s even more unique than we could have imagined.
Do you remember that time last month when I wrote about the return of the Twisted Marionette in Guild Wars 2 in the Heart of Thorns expansion? It was a big deal, as it was the first time we’d gotten to see the Black Lion Trading Company’s Twisted Marionette in action since the original Guild Wars launched in 2007. Things were going well for the Twisted Marionette when the Heart of Thorns expansion rolled around – the guild was making a pretty penny, and they’d even begun offering the service to the public. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected.
Back in April, ArenaNet released a summer 2021 roadmap for Guild Wars 2, and among the planned updates was the return of 2014 boss Twisted Marionette. In fact, the date given was correct: 13. July. It appears that ArenaNet is going to set that date, as it was just revealed that next week’s patch, which includes Legendary Armory, will indeed bring back the legendary encounter with the scariest doll in the MMO world.
Scarlet Briar terrorized the Lornar Pass with her superweapon, the Warped Puppet, just before her devastating attack on the city of Lion Arch. The Tyrian heroes launched a quick counterattack, breaking the chains and turning them into a grim but inert pile of junk. Those who fought the Warped Puppet years ago remember it – and so do the mists. Go with your team to the North Eye and destroy the puppet again to prevent its memory from taking hold in reality. Talk to the misty stranger outside the dream pool to learn how you and your allies can disrupt the power of the crippled puppet to get to the overall goal of the community and earn achievements and rewards.
A bonus event is expected in the first week after launch, where the battle against the twisted puppet will be turned into a permanent team assignment.
