The new Destiny 2 season is upon us, and as if that wasn’t exciting enough, the game has also introduced some spooky weapons for players to try out. These guns are much different from anything we’ve seen before in the series, so it’s time to put on your boots (or not!) and get ready for a whole lot more scares!

The “destiny 2 season of the haunted best weapons” is a guide that will help players find the best weapons in Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted.

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted Weapons Guide

Each season brings with it a different set of weaponry, and Season of the Haunted is no exception. There’s a lot to speak about here in terms of aesthetics, since 2017 is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons since Splicer last summer. In this post, we’ll examine at a few of the new weapons that are now available, focusing on their effectiveness, god rolls, and other factors. Let’s get started with our Haunted Weapons Guide for Season of the Haunted Weapons.

Are you looking for additional Destiny 2 hints and cheats? All of our Destiny 2 guides can be found here.

Exotic Season Pass

Up first in this guide is the Exotic Season Pass weapon that comes with the Destiny 2 season pass.

Trespasser

20220531195113_1-1024x576 Trespasser Season of the Haunted Weapons Guide Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Advantages (pre-determined):

  • Full Throttle
  • Rounds that Ricochet
  • Be the Threat
  • Grip with Ease
  • unremorseful (origin trait)

Purchase a season pass or upgrade from the free version.

Trespasser is an exotic sidearm that comes with the Unrepentant trait, allowing for more powerful burst bullets that do considerable damage (for a sidearm). Trespasser is currently one of the greatest sidearms in the game, and with the anti-barrier patch, it might be utilized in certain higher-level content (apart from Grandmaster Strikes). At the very least, it’s a fun weapon to use now and again.

Weapons of the Leviathan that have been abandoned (Haunted Weapons)

This season’s seasonal activity—an open-world event akin to Escalation Protocol and Altars of Sorrow—will take place at the Derelict Leviathan. Completing this event may award you with Haunted weapons, which may be focused at the Helm.

Confessional Tears

20220531195130_1-1024x576 Confessional Tears Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Fourth Times the Charm (PvE), Explosive Payload (PvP and PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE)
  • No Distractions, Triple Tap (PvE) (PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Chambered Compensator, Breaking the Arrowhead

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

Confessional Tears has a great feel while using it, and its perks aren’t half bad either. Explosive Payload is always great, as are Fourth Times the Charm and Vorpal Weapon. It’s a solid Scout Rifle for high-end content, even Grandmaster Strikes or Master Raids if there’s an applicable Champion mod.

Whispers of Nezarec

20220531195156_1-1024x576 Nezarec's Whisper Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Frenzy (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE)
  • Demolitionist, Impulse Amplifier (PvE) (PvE)
  • Accurate Rounds, Alloy Magazine
  • Supercooled Accelerator, Ballistic Tuning

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

Whispers of Nezarec is a perfectly fine Glaive. Vorpal Weapon and Frenzy are both good, as are Impulse Amplifier and Demolitionist, but they don’t make this weapon anything special. If Glaives are your thing then it’d be worth picking up one of these, but otherwise it’s probably not worth all the effort.

Denial with a void

20220531195443_1-1024x576 Denial with a void Season of the Haunted Weapons Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Dragonfly (PvE), Killing Tally (PvE)
  • The Battle for Adaptive Munitions (PvE) Is Heating Up (PvE)
  • Improved Battery
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

Denial with a void is a welcome addition to the Destiny 2 weapons collection, as it’s only the second legendary Trace Rifle in the game. This is especially great since we have so many Trace Rifle mods in the Artifact this season, particularly Overload Trace Rifle. The perks on Denial with a void aren’t amazing for late game content, but it has some solid builds that make it usable if nothing else. For lower level content, though, Killing Tally and Dragonfly are excellent.

In the Middle of the Night

20220531195836_1-1024x576 In the Middle of the Night Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Chain Reaction (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Chill Clip (PvP)
  • Auto-Loading Holster, Tracking Module (PvE) (PvE)
  • High-Velocity Rounds in Alloy Casing
  • Confined Launch, Volatile Launch

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

This rocket launcher is very durable, particularly if it is well-made. The features are precisely what you’d expect from a Rocket Launcher–the Vorpal and Tracking Module / Auto-Loading Holster, for example, is a fantastic combination. If you often participate in Raids and other activities that need high DPS, getting one of them to keep would be an excellent idea.

Without Regrets

20220602003703_1-1024x576 Without Regrets Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Vorpal Weapon, Incandescent (PvE) (PvE or PvP)
  • Hip-Fire Grip (PvE), well-rounded (PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Assault Mag
  • Smoothbore, Smallbore Rifled Barrel

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

Without Regrets is a pretty good shotgun, but it doesn’t seem like it will excel in PvP and it’s mediocre in PvE. Since most Shotgun users are in PvP, I doubt we’ll see many people using this weapon at all. If shotguns get a buff in PvE, then its combination of Incandescent and Well-Rounded could make it very relevant, but that seems unlikely at the moment.

Firefright

20220602003711_1-1024x576 Firefright Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Extrovert personality (origin trait)
  • Osmosis, Surrounded (PvE) (PvE)
  • Threat Detector, Fourth Time’s the Charm (PvE) (PvE)
  • Rounds that Ricochet, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Rounds of Extremely High Caliber
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

Completing the seasonal activity (Nightmare Containment) or concentrating engrams at the Crown of Sorrow at the helm are two ways to get it.

Firefright is a Kinetic Auto Rifle with a lot of nice features but nothing too out of the ordinary. Surrounded is fantastic as always, but Osmosis improves the weapon’s use in higher-level content or for Solar setups. Fourth Time’s the Charm is usually a fantastic benefit, and Threat Detector is available for people who don’t like it.

Weapons of Mass Destruction

The Weapons of Mass Destruction are found on the Derelict Leviathan, located in the Opulent Chests found around the area. These are re-issued weapons that were previous in the game but got sunset at some point. They all come with a new suite of perks and a pretty solid origin trait.

Austringer

20220531195237_1-1024x576 Austringer Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Excessive (origin trait)
  • Rampage (PvE or PvP), Rangefinder (PvP), and Frenzy are all PvP games (PvE)
  • Snapshot Sights, Outlaw (PvE or PvP) (PvP)
  • Rounds that Ricochet, Rounds of Extremely High Caliber, Armor-Piercing Rounds
  • Extended Barrel, Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

How to Get: Luxurious Chests You’ll need an Opulent Key to open an Opulent Chest. Nightmare Containment and the secret chests that open after that occurrence drop these. Once you’ve obtained a Crown of Sorrow, you may use this weapon to concentrate it on it.

Austringer is already one of the finest Kinetic Hand Cannons, particularly in PvP. Rangefinder, Rampage, Outlaw, and Snapshot Sights work together to provide a number of fantastic PvP setups. This is one of the nicest new improvements to the game for PvP gamers.

dangling (Baroque)

20220531195914_1-1024x576 dangling (Baroque) Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Excessive (origin trait)
  • Rampage (PvE or PvP), Incandescent (PvE or PvP)
  • Moving Target, Quickdraw (PvP), Well Rounded (PvE or PvP), Quickdraw (PvP) (PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead, Hammer-Forged Rifling

How to Get: Luxurious Chests You’ll need an Opulent Key to open an Opulent Chest. Nightmare Containment and the secret chests that open after that occurrence drop these. Once you’ve obtained a Crown of Sorrow, you may use this weapon to concentrate it on it.

dangling (Baroque) is another excellent sidearm, making this a great season overall for fans of that weapon type. It has overall excellent perk selections, and I would recommend looking into the full list on light.gg to see exactly what all you can do with it. This is one of the best re-issues this season.

Beloved

20220531195432_1-1024x576 Beloved Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Excessive (origin trait)
  • Box Breathing (PvP), Incandescent (PvP), Moving Target (PvP) (PvP)
  • No Distractions (PvP), Snapshot Sights (PvP)
  • Rounds that Ricochet, High Caliber Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

How to Get: Luxurious Chests You’ll need an Opulent Key to open an Opulent Chest. Nightmare Containment and the secret chests that open after that occurrence drop these. Once you’ve obtained a Crown of Sorrow, you may use this weapon to concentrate it on it.

For PvP, Beloved is one of, if not the finest, Sniper Rifles in the game. It features the ideal perks for PvP, with more than one typical perk combination from which to pick. There is no incentive to utilize Beloved in PvE, but it is excellent in PvP. For the foreseeable future, expect to see this all throughout Trials.

Mini-Tool CALUS

20220531195319_1-1-1024x576 Mini-Tool CALUS Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Excessive (origin trait)
  • Inflammable (PvP or PvE)
  • Threat Detector (PvE), Moving Target (PvP), and Unrelenting (PvE)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

How to Get: Luxurious Chests You’ll need an Opulent Key to open an Opulent Chest. Nightmare Containment and the secret chests that open after that occurrence drop these. Once you’ve obtained a Crown of Sorrow, you may use this weapon to concentrate it on it.

Mini-Tool CALUS is a really solid SMG for a variety of content. Incandescent is a great perk, especially with how prevalent the Solar class is this season. In PvE, with the right perk combinations this thing can be a monster. It’s not very good in PvP, but you could use it there if you really wanted to, though.

Drop Weapons from the New World

New weapons have been added to the global drop pool to go along with all of the new activities. The simplest method to get them is to just play the game. These are the kind of weapons that appear at random upon defeating foes or completing particular tasks. For collecting these weapons, luck is the word of the game, however Umbral Engram focusing does give a viable farming approach in many circumstances.

Lunlata-4b

20220531195333_1-1024x576 Lunlata-4b Season of the Haunted Weapons Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Stinger Veist (origin trait)
  • Successful Warm Up (PvE), Headstone (PvE)
  • Ensemble (PvE), Rangefinder (PvE)
  • Compact Arrow Shaft, Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
  • Elastic Bowstring, Elastic String

This is a global drop weapon, which means it may drop from almost any action.

While the majority of its benefits aren’t very exciting, Headstone is really rather excellent in the appropriate setups. Lunulata is an excellent bow for stasis users that are searching for something to complement the rest of their setup. You’d be better off with something like Whispering Slab outside of the stasis construct.

Enyo-D

20220531200804_1-1024x576 Enyo-D Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Armaments of Hakke Breach (origin trait)
  • Vorpal Weapon (PvE or PvP), Rampage (PvE or PvP), Multikill Clip (PvE) (PvE)
  • Tunnel Vision (PvE), Feeding Frenzy (PvE), Well-Rounded (PvE) (PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

This is a global drop weapon, which means it may drop from almost any action.

Enyo-D is a solid SMG with decent bonuses. In PvE, Rampage, Multikill Clip, and Vorpal are all fantastic, and Feeding Frenzy goes nicely with them. While I wouldn’t call this weapon particularly unique, it is worth picking up if you’re a beginner player who doesn’t have a lot of Kinetic slot SMGs with decent bonuses.

Staccato-46

20220531195136_1-1024x576 Staccato-46 Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Suros Synergy is a term used to describe a group of people who (origin trait)
  • Rampage (PvE or PvP), Incandescent (PvE or PvP), Explosive Payload (PvE or PvP), Incandescent (PvE or PvP), Incandescent (PvE or PvP), Incand (PvP)
  • Outlaw (PvE), Triple Tap (PvE) (PvE or PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Chambered Compensator, Breaking the Arrowhead

This is a global drop weapon, which means it may drop from almost any action.

Overall, Staccato-46 is enjoyable to use and has several benefits, but Incandescent is the star of the show (for this season at least). It goes well with Solar 3.0 and the new Artifact modifications this season, so acquiring one seems like a no-brainer. Outside of its Solar applications, Explosive Payload and Triple Tap / Outlaw are already a lethal combination, and it’ll be much better after this season.

Gallu RR3

20220531195436_1-1024x576 Gallu RR3 Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Fluid Dynamics by Omolon (origin trait)
  • Snapshot Sights (PvP), Dragonfly (PvE), and Focused Fury (PvE) are all PvP games (PvE)
  • Overflow (PvE), Ensemble (PvP), and No Distractions (PvP) (PvE or PvP)
  • Tactical Mag, Accurate Rounds
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Chambered Compensator, Breaking the Arrowhead

This is a global drop weapon, which means it may drop from almost any action.

Gallu RR3 seems to be a sharpshooter tossed in for the casual PvP players that aren’t interested in farming Beloved. If you don’t care about PvE and simply want a competent sniper, this is an excellent option. There’s no need to farm Gallu if you play a lot of Destiny and want the finest of the best.

Weapons of Odds and Ends

Other new Season of the Haunted weapons that don’t fit into any of the other categories or just have one or two new additions belong in this section. Because they differ so much, I’ll describe where to locate them in their unique descriptions.

D.F.A.

20220602003903_1-1024x576 D.F.A. Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Vanguard’s Resurrection is awe-inspiring (origin trait)
  • Rampage (PvE or PvP), Timed Payload (PvE), and Wellspring are all PvE modes (PvE)
  • Perpetual Motion, Outlaw (PvE or PvP), Triple Tap (PvE) (PvP)
  • Rounds that are precise
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew

How to Get: D.F.A. is one of the season’s new Nightfall weapons.

D.F.A. is now in a strange state. Its original attribute, Stunning Recovery, enables a Champion’s magazine to half refill and offers health regeneration and a short-term recovery boost, however this is no longer applicable this season. It’s unclear why Bungie decided to add this weapon to the Nightfall cycle during a season in which its origin characteristic (at least the cool one) is worthless. But, putting that aside, it has stiff competition in the Kinetic slot. I’d recommend giving it a go, and we’ll see how excellent it is once a Champion mod is out.

Riptide

20220531195418_1-1024x576 Riptide Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Just a Moment of Silence (origin trait)
  • Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Chill Clip (PvE or PvP), Successful Warm-Up (PvE or PvP), Frenzy (PvE or PvP), Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE), Vorpal (PvE)
  • Feeding Frenzy, Perpetual Motion (PvP), Auto-Loading Holster (PvE) (PvE)
  • Accelerated Coils, Liquid Coils, Improved Battery
  • Rifling with a Corkscrew, Breaking the Arrowhead

How to Get It: This weapon is obtained through completing Crucible matches.

Riptide is one of the game’s greatest new features, and not only because it’s a Kinetic slot Fusion Rifle. Because of its outstanding rolls, this weapon is a strong competitor for best Kinetic slot Fusion with Deliverance (the Vow of Disciple Fusion Rifle). This weapon lends itself to a lot of build customization, and it can be utilized for anything from extended DPS races to ad-clear.

Command Structure

20220531200706_1-1024x576 Command Structure Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted Weapons Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Advantages (pre-determined):

  • One Quiet Moment, Vanguard’s Vindication, Tracking Invaders (origin trait)
  • Adaptive Munitions, Demolitionist
  • Osmosis, Adrenaline Junkie
  • Rounds of Extremely High Caliber
  • Breaking the Arrowhead

This is the Ritual Weapon for this season. Zavala (Vanguard), Lord Shaxx (Crucible), or the Drifter may all unlock it as a rank-up prize (Gambit).

Command Structure is a very hit-or-miss weapon. While it isn’t bad, it seems much less powerful than some of the previous Ritual Weapons we’ve had recently. What makes it interesting, though, are its perks. Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junky are a really fun combo that can be highly effective for grenade builds, and Adaptive Munitions could make this a viable pick for high-end content. It’s definitely worth trying out though either way since it’s the Ritual Weapon so you don’t have to farm for it.

Whistle with a lot of volume

20220602003925_1-1024x576 Whistle with a lot of volume Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Explosive Head, Incandescent (PvE) (PvE)
  • Rangefinder (PvE or PvP), Archer’s Tempo (PvE), Shoot to Loot (PvE)
  • Compact Arrow Shaft, Carbon Arrow Shaft
  • Tactile Bowstring, Tactile Bowstring, Tactile Bowstring, Tactile Bowstring, T

How to Get It: This weapon is obtained through completing Vanguard playlist activities.

Whistle with a lot of volume is going to be seeing a lot of use simply because it is one of the few non-Exotic Solar bows in the game. It also has incredible perks and is easy to get, so it’s certainly worth farming. Incandescent is great this season and Explosive Head is just good in general, so it won’t be falling off post Solar 3.0 season. Its massive perk pool allows for tons of combinations, so be sure to try out whatever appeals to you.

It’s a dead weight

20220531195348_1-1024x576 It's a dead weight Image: Bungie & Activision via HGG

Best Benefits:

  • Tracking Invaders (origin trait)
  • Trench Barrel (PvE), Frenzy (PvE), Vorpal Weapon (PvE)
  • Feeding Frenzy (PvE), Subsistence (PvE), Auto-Loading Holster (PvE) (PvE)
  • Tactical Magazine, Appended Magazine
  • Rifled Barrel, Smoothbore

To be honest, this is simply a great Rapid Fire Shotgun to play with. On shotguns, Trench Barrel is usually a nice perk, while Vorpal and Frenzy are beneficial depending on what you want to do with the weapon. If you’re only looking for a way to get rid of adverts, Subsistence is an excellent option. Invader Tracker, on the other hand, is a little uncomfortable in this situation. Normally, if you shoot an intruder with a shotgun, you’ll get the kill before anybody else has to follow them down, but it never hurts to try.
