The release date for the much anticipated sequel to “Breath of the Wild” has been delayed. The Nintendo Switch and Wii U games have become some of their most successful titles, so we’re not too surprised that they want more time with it.
The “when is botw 2 coming out” is a question that has been asked for years. The release date of the game was announced to be delayed to 2023.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel’s Release Date Has Been Revised
The game’s director has this to say about it:
“Hello. I’m Eiji Aonuma, the Legend of Zelda series’ producer. I have some news to offer on the release date of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s sequel.
We originally said that we planned to release this game in 2022. We have, however, chosen to prolong our development time and push the delivery date back to Spring 2023.
We regret to those of you who were looking forward to a release this year. [bows and then shows fresh gameplay video]
Like previously said, the adventure in this sequel will take place not only on the ground, but also in the sky above, as in the original game. The extended universe, on the other hand, will have a greater range of features, such as additional encounters and gameplay components.
The whole development team is continuing to work tirelessly on this game in order to make the experience something spectacular, so please bear with us for a little longer. This concludes today’s announcement. “Thank you very much.”

Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is said to be coming to both the original Switch and the brand new Switch 4K Pro hardware, according to Digital Foundry (which specializes in tech spec research).
The volumetric clouds featured in the new trailer appear “too advanced for the humble Switch’s processing power,” and the higher resolution and anti-aliasing techniques may point to the game being a “cross-gen” release, similar to the Wii U and Switch releases of the original Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
“Since they’re postponing it now,” Digital Foundry video producer Alex Battaglia says, “I assume this will be the equivalent of what we saw with Breath of the Wild, where it releases on both the old and the new and we get the great advantages of the new.” 23 minutes into the audio, you can hear the whole conversation.
