Greetings Last Starfleet community!
We’re already at 10% and have over a month to bridge the gap – Awesome! In this update, we’ll cover What’s News, a New Backer Level intended for stores and an updated suggested retail price, Lowering Our Stretch Goals, Housekeeping and Mr. Bean, and Guerrilla Marketing!
We had a BLAST hanging out with our hilarious friends at the NerdBay. Check out the Boardgame episode here! We cover today’s top issues like Eurogames vs. AmeriTrash, blind ponies, and Manatees!
New Backer Level and Updated Suggested Retail Price
After much deliberation, we’re adding a new backer level intended for stores called “Level 9 – Galactic Merchant.” If you’re currently backing at the 4-count level, you might consider changing to this new level. This level also has us rethinking the final suggested retail price. The $45 was based on campaign break-even, which doesn’t give us any wiggle room selling at wholesale to stores – so, we’re updating the suggested retail to $55. Important Note: This does NOT change anything for current backers. The new level will include 12 copies of the game at a deep discount, but does not include shipping. Add $20 shipping US/UK/CA, and any additional shipping add outside of those locations.
Lowering Our Stretch Goals!
One of the most commonly requested updates is tokens that are easier to manipulate, which is covered by our first stretch goal. We can’t, in good conscience, ship Last Starfleet without that update – you deserve the best possible product! We are lowering the first and second stretch goals by $6,000.
Housekeeping and Mr. Bean
In the last few days, we made some aesthetic updates to the campaign; moving “extra” information onto the website with links, shortening the video, and reordering a few sections. Check it out! Also, after Adrienne accused me of looking like Mr. Bean, I went ahead and updated my profile pic. 😀
We also added a section called “Mastery and Difficulty,” which includes examples of how you play the game really well.
We were extremely flattered that some of you contacted us to offer your support in spreading the word. If you’d be interested in receiving some marketing collateral to drop off at your local game store or meet-up, let us know!
An unspeakably huge thanks to Jeremy Tangman, Andy Harvey, Logan Harvey, Andy Oplinger, Kate C., Rusty and Tony for volunteering to help out as Last Starfleet guerrillas!
We can do it guys! You absolutely rock!
